nouranaly 3 Posted July 15, 2019 Hi guys, I had my surgery on june 24, I have lost 39.6 lbs within 3 weeks, I'm just wondering, is this too much weight to lose within the first 3 weeks? I feel great and I don't feel dizzy at all, should I change anything?
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted July 15, 2019 No. Because you are heavier going into surgery, it's perfectly normal to expect to lose larger sums right up front. It will level out. Just make sure to stay hydrated girl and follow your docs plan of care! Get that Protein in and congrats on your losses to date!!! Two-derville here you come! 1 nouranaly reacted to this
Dr-Patient 830 Posted July 15, 2019 Congratulations!!!! You're doing great!!!! Your weight was high, so a quick drop at first is not surprising. Enjoy it!! Don't worry...it will slow down at some later time: those dreaded stalls. So enjoy it. Good for you!! 1 nouranaly reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted July 15, 2019 It's okay for now, but don't expect it to continue that large of a weight loss every week ongoing for months. Congrats! Good luck on your recovery and weight loss 1 nouranaly reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted July 15, 2019 actually, that is kind of a lot given your starting BMI. Congrats! But like the above poster said, it's going to really slow down after the first month, so just know to expect that.. 1 nouranaly reacted to this
gabybab 696 Posted July 16, 2019 (edited) I was over 50 BMI when I first had surgery. I lost 43 pounds the first month. 4.5 months later I'm at 66 pounds. My weight loss has slowed to a snail's pace. I think it eventually the weight slows down and I had a 3 week stall after the first month. Good luck!
