Butterfly#7 65 Posted July 14, 2019 At 7 weeks post gastric sleeve procedure I am still getting occasional nausea. Oddly it's not just when I'm full or need to eat, but I can feel fine and all of a sudden get really nausea with the mouth watering and everything. My doctor gave me a few pills for when I have extreme nausea but I try not to use them every time I feel sick. Does anyone else still experience nausea and other than meds is there another relief? Someone suggested that I get some sugar free peppermints and suck on those ...Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
S@ssen@ch 745 Posted July 14, 2019 Peppermint is a good suggestion. Ginger is another. When I feel sick to my stomach or even bloated, I drink ginger tea. I have ginger hard candies as well, but they're hard to find. Try some ginger.
notmyname 593 Posted July 14, 2019 Ginger. Note that peppermint can cause reflux or make it worse. If the nausea is reflux-related, it might actually make the problem worse. Also look at your diet to see if there is anything that might cause reflux - when I had terrible reflux, I also had terrible nausea. Even well after I ate and wasn't hungry.
