Sugar free drinks

Recommended Posts

I don't know what your nut or dr will say but I was told to not have carbonated beverages, so coke zero and sprite zero are out for me. You will have to ask but I believe it is best to stay away from carbonation. The sugar free part is fine. I generally drink Crystal Light or Bai Water.

No, because of the carbonation in them. No soda or "sparkling" Water types even if they are sugar free.< br>

Most NUTS say no more carbonation, and was told to ditch caffeine until healed. The carbonation actually hurts, the phosphoric acid leaches minerals from your bones, and is caffeine is a diuretic and in the beginning you can easily dehydrate.

I have had half a glass of soda here and there but seriously have lost my desire/taste for it. I stick to ice tea, hot tea or crystal light, but mainly Water - lots of water. Your taste buds change after surgery anyway. And the money you save on soda can go towards a new wardrobe!

It depends on how far out you are post-op. For a while, several months, carbonated soft drinks are out of the question. But you can do sugar-free Crystal Light in Water, and other sugar-free non-carbonated drinks
