Day 4 post op sleeve done CRAVINGS

Recommended Posts

I am 6 days out from sleeve to rny revision & still have not 💩. I am finally passing gas, but I do not feel any urge to have a bowel movement. I have been taking Dulcolax stool softener a couple times a day, but still nothing. Was wondering if MOM or Mirilax is the way to go? I am also having a sharp pain under by left breast/rib cage. Hurts to take a deep breath. Anyone else experience this?

I had surgery on a Monday didn’t go till Friday. I was so miserable. When I called the surgeon office they told me to take Mirilax but I was home alone and could not get to the store. I took a few sips of coffee which I would Not recommend. I was then in the bathroom the whole day. I was so relieved to go though I was ready to go to the hospital how much pain I was in and afraid my stomach was hurt. By the time my husband got home from work I was already went. They said it happens from all the pain meds and not enough Water. I would definitely try something to make you go or it is just going t9 get worse. Hope you feel better.

The first 10 days post-op are THE worst...thing should get better at 10 days out, but Constipation can be a thing for a while. Im 2 months out and only now am I getting to be somewhat normal. Post-op normal is now pooing once evey other or third day. Stick out this first time. All us post-op have been there. (but only now on the other side do you understand and can give support to others).

Many hugs and sympathy (especially for the gawd dern gas)!

So you need to take a laxative after the surgery or before thanks for sharing midnightsun
I would suggest to follow Dr request him told me to take stool softener right after but I waited. I could not poop until I did an edema. Oh that was the most painful thing besides labor lol. Please walk walk walk and drink Water with Fiber. I'm on my 3 weeks post op and still not pooping correctly. The struggle is real.

MOM is the way to go. I had pain too but in my right side. Just make sure you walk and that time Will come. Everyone's body is different just make sure you consume enough Water too. Good luck hun

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
