carterb 4 Posted July 12, 2019 Hi guys, Sorry for this TMI but I don’t know who else to ask. Ever since my gastric sleeve surgery, after I eat (no matter how much) I produce a LOT of saliva. So much so that I have to keep spitting it out. And it’s also really really thick. This just seems so weird to me. Has anyone else had this?
Bari_KS 499 Posted July 12, 2019 It happened to me a couple of times when i ate too fast or too much after VSG.
Orchids&Dragons 9,047 Posted July 12, 2019 That's what's referred to here as the foamies. It usually means your sleeve is overfull. That doesn't mean you ate more than your plan states, just that you, personally, can't handle that serving size, yet. You can search for foamies, there are a lot of threads. 3 Bari_KS, Sosewsue61 and FluffySaysForkIt! reacted to this
froufrou 678 Posted July 13, 2019 Another thing that can cause this is drinking too soon before or after eating. Maybe watch that for a bit too and see if it makes any difference. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted July 13, 2019 Slimes, foamies... yep it will pass, just eat really slow, chew really well, eat 3 bites ad wait 10 minutes to see if you really need bite 4. Some food stages just have to wait awhile as well - lettuce caused trouble for nearly a year....just would not stay down... it's good now. 1 Orchids&Dragons reacted to this
