Are you able to eat the full 4oz? On Tuesday Ill be 14days out. I'm still eating 2oz at a time. Today I was able to eat a full egg instead of 3/4 of the egg. I ate my 2oz today and felt hungry still. I wasn't sure if I should up it an oz.

I was able to in about 30-40 minutes! I just took small spoonfuls, while looking on here online. That was my first time eating anything solid! I haven't tried eggs yet!

Today I am 5 days post OP. I'm still sore at my largest incision site. Gatorade zero still burns going down. Protein Water doesn't hurt going down. Still feeling bloated. Walking isnt too bad, as long as I take my time and support my incision. Haven't had any hunger pains. I'm down 8 lbs. Slept in my bed for the first time lastnight. Taking it day by day, I have no regrets, I'm grateful. Cannot wait to see what my future holds for me!

Keep in spirits! I had to hold my side where the incision was to walk...I didn't try regular Gatorade, but Propel (room-temp) worked well for me. I have the Protein Powder from Unjury and it also worked well for me.

No worries! I went to my nutritionist yesterday and she A-1 approved! Used it and it was so easy to use and clean up.

I'm 6 days out from surgery. Drinking is still painful un my upper chest area. I'm still sore at largest incision site but its tolerable. I haven't been hungry or sick. Even though hubby has been cooking some delicious smelling foods. I actually could go back to work if I wanted to but I'm sitting on so much PTO, I might as well use it, or I'll lose it at the end of the year. I'm down 13 lbs already, woo hoo!![emoji322][emoji119][emoji813]️

I'm gonna ask my surgeon what he thinks about this. 100% guarantee he's not gonna agree with it lol. I'm going to the gym, but I'm only walking on the treadmill for a mile and then elliptical for a mile. I burn around 300 calories then when I come home drink a Protein Shake which is 160 calories added back so my calories for the day probably amounts to 360 calories. I think doing the small maintenance now will help you condition your body and build stamina so when you're able to consume more calories you'll be able to hit the gym hard and do actual work. I would be leery to follow this doctors advice when some of it goes against medical research I think consulting with your personal doctor would be best since one size doesn't fit all.

I totally agree that you should consult your team and personal doctor! This is just one of his videos and he doesn't say not to walk, which I think in the first months is all my bariatric coordinator's papers said for me! We share things on here to expand different thoughts...by all means, everyone should follow what is good for their bodies! I just ordered his book and subscribed on YouTube..bought his book yesterday and will report back once I read it!

I'm so confused. I was sleeved on 7/22/2019, and three weeks post-op I'm still feeling hunger and not nearly the restrictions I was expecting. There are definitely some restrictions, but I can easily eat/drink 1000 calories a day without feeling uncomfortable. This is not what I was expecting. Should I consider myself lucky that I feel so good, or does this seem off to those of you who are also recovering? Thanks for any opinions!

Hi! I had mine on 7/22/19 too...congrats! I don't necessarily "feel" full either, but I have tried to stick to my "book" they gave me. I found this video (after watching another one that someone recommended on this forum):

I am not saying he is "be-all-know-all," but some of the things he says really makes sense (and I have ordered his book to read more). Everyone is different, but I am trying to do the lifestyle/lifelong thing. Do you have a nutritionist or team that you have to do some follow up with? I just met with mine this past week and it helped a lot. I have my first post-op with my surgeon next week. Hope this helps! Keep going...

For y’all who don’t feel the restriction don’t worry it’s COMING. On liquids I never felt it. The veterans here say that you won’t feel it with “slider” foods. But when you get to softs and start bringing in regular foods TRUST me you will feel it. If you eat fast it’s worse I’ve learned my lesson. In one bite you gonfrom I’m fine to omg i need to puke some of this out or if you’re going to fast it’s like a punch in the chest lol I learned real quick that I needed to SLOW DOWN and pay attention

I was sleeved a day after you and 1000 calories does seem like a lot to me this soon. I'm probably hitting almost 500 calories I'm usually in the high 400's. But it could just be my clinic's standard. In the weightloss faze they want you to stick to 600-800 calories a day when you start soft/regular foods. I would eat until you're satisfied not full. So eat until you're like ok I dont have that starving feeling anymore. I too am hungry all the time I would say every 2-3hrs. I started out with 2oz of food and this week moved myself up to 2.5-3oz of food. Just be cautious as you're still healing and leaks scare me lol! I would talk to your nutritionist for sure and make sure your hunger is actual hungry and not head hunger. Cause i definitely suffer from head hunger and I definitely want to eat more, but my stomach is like "Hoooldddd up sister, this ain't gonna happen" lol.

My friend (she a surgerical tech) just told me about this guy that came in and he had to have emergency surgery because he busted through his staples by eating a whole pizza after his surgery. [emoji53]

I had RNY on July 15. I feel great but taking in the required liquids is a bit hard. I am no way near 48-64 ozs/day. Constipation is a problem and I haven't lost much weight. I'm only down 10 lbs from surgery morning. I know everything will get better but I'm getting a little bit discouraged. I thought I'd be down at least 15 lbs by now. Has anyone else had a slow weight loss right after surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
