Lynda486 784 Posted July 4, 2019 My surgery has not been scheduled yet but I was told by the nurse not to lose weight because I am so close to the lower limit. I started drinking more fluids got 50 ounces in yesterday so I am used to drinking. What diet can I follow with out losing weight. Thanks Lynda
KCgirl061 1,532 Posted July 4, 2019 I think it would be a good idea to cut out sugary drinks that you usually have. Practice chewing your food real well and even work on having your meals without drinks. Start tracking your food and get in the habit of doing that, as it's an important habit to have. I'm not sure what your current calorie goal should be preop to maintain your weight without losing... probably 2000 or so?
Lynda486 784 Posted July 4, 2019 Thanks KCgirl061! I will definitely cut out sugary! In the recent past I did the Whole 30 diet, so I think cutting some things won't be too hard. I am already a pro at chewing my food as this surgery will be a revision from a VBG to bypass. Thanks, Lynda PS I live in Southern MO

Tilli13 3 Posted October 27, 2019 Me too. Went to my first three appt and was told not to lose ANY (stressed) not to lose a lbs of weight. Ugghh! This is hard to do, kinda. I want to start practicing to eat like I will have to for the rest of my life. I am proscribing chewing my food well. I am also learning to be mindful when I eat. Any other advice?? tilli
Lynda486 784 Posted October 29, 2019 The funny thing is that when I went to my last pre op appointment they told me I was okay because I was having the surgery for other medical reasons so my weight didn't matter, ugh! I stressed so much trying to keep the scale from going down (it was hard) Turns out my gallbladder was not helping at the time. When is your surgery?
Tilli13 3 Posted October 29, 2019 I don’t have a surgery date but like you, ugghh. Hard to not and lose. Crazy. When is yours??
