my personal little official thread

Recommended Posts

Instead of making a new thread for each of my quandaries and appointments, I'm just going to post here. lol.

My home equity loan is approved! I go for closing on Friday. I have $40,000 dedicated solely to plastics, but I don't intend to spend more than 20K.

I have my consult with my surgeon on August 16th for an arm lift and Tummy Tuck and to do something about my "side boob" area. They WILL do a tummy tuck and arm lift simultaneously.

TO BE CONTINUED! I AM SO PSYCHED! AUGUSSSTTT!!

The surgeon said he can't remove the skin from my "side boob" because a lot of important vessels run through there that serve the abdominal area so once the TT is healed, he is going to numb the skin in office and cut it off in office. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. lol.

That seems ..... different

In my countless hours of researching post bariatric plastics, it seems side boob is handle either with a breast lift (with or without augmentation) or with an upper body lift

Reposting because I should have marked out my personal info. Even though it's probably already been stolen by now. LOL.

*shrug* If he says there's an added risk, I'm okay doing it separately, especially if he can just snip snip in-office. When I had my lift/reduction, the side boob was not part of it because it isn't breast tissue - it would have been an "extra" procedure. I'm already going to be a zombie with my arms in compression garments and my abs in a binder. lol.

feeling a little antsy. a coworker's friend had a Tummy Tuck 11 days ago (also a bypass patient) and she was in the hospital for THREE DAYS because she was unable to stand up from the muscles feeling so tight. she is still on heavy pain meds. on the other hand, a friend of mine from law school had it done over spring break and was back perky and chipper at school 7 days later. i am more nervous about the brachioplasty pain. just goes to show how everyone heals so differently. mine's scheduled outpatient.

A couple weeks then. Yes my arms and thighs were each outpatient. My PS did the side skin with arms An office procedure is new to me too. Nerves I get. It is scary to be cut on. B brave and ramp up Protein ❇️❇️❇️❇️❇️
A procedure I did not pursue was bra line that removed skin from back. Best to you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
