we all hit some sort of slip.. this is a journey and you have recognized what you did and got back on track! Eating bad goods once did not make us big, eating it daily did, so as long as you face the obstacle and overcome it, you will be back on track in no time.. Do not Fret!

no worries, just don't make a habit out of it. I can see someone going crazy trying to eat the right stuff all the time.. you have to let go here and there..and as Jazzy pointed out, just dont do it every day, or even every month.,

Thanks for sticking around the site and being supportive and inspirational. Correct me if I’m wrong, I believe you said in another post you are maintaining.

You have not failed. You are not out of control and off the wagon. You recognized how you feel when not eating healthy and know what to do to work off small gains. Maintaining is knowing you can indulge within reason. Set a weight bonce range to work up and down the scale. Be diligent.. also be willing to relax a bit. When you have a small gain, go back to weight loss basics.

IMHO I don't like the phrase of On/Off the Wagon for the WLS community. It rubs me the wrong way. I guess to me there's just a stones throw association with someone stating we get a free ride or are coasting along & we do not ... a lot of us work hard. Really hard. If perfection is not realistic maybe strive for sustainability. But I honestly believe vigilance will help more than guilt. Congrats on your success so far.

Good Luck

I think this is good advice.

We're living in a environment that provides food in excess and everyone has to find a sustainable way to deal with this. Preferably a way that doesn't end in some kind of insanity.

was not intended to rub any one wrong at all i was the one driving and i do work very hard at staying on program

my choice of words may be wrong i just put it out there that i have not met my end of the deal over the weekend and i am better for the slip and know i can not partake in those situations at this time in my journey as my heath is more important to me than that

Ahhhhhh 😰 sorry

I should have started the post by saying

Sorry you are feeling this way because you dont deserve to.

You didnt affect me personally just the way the phrase is used. Im sure you worked very diligently and i never want trolls & spectators (the site has guest constantly) to be able to say otherwise

Don't look at it as a slip. Look at it as a choice. It's okay to choose something off plan, just try to not make it a daily thing.

I choose to go and have a margarita with my wife once a month. We used to go every weekend to our spot, order a pitcher and I would go through most of it. Now I order a single one and savor it, most times I don't even finish it. I will share some food bites with her and enjoy a side salad. That is my choice.

Don't sweat it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
