I am 5 days post op and I've noticed things are blurrier than normal and when people or things move too fast it seems to almost have a weird motion blur effect like my eyes are struggling to keep up with the movements. I also find it hard to have my eyes focus on things it almost seems forced to have to focus now, like when I look at someone's face I feel that I have to dart my eyes back and fourth between their two eyes because mine are not comfortable just staring at one eye anymore. Has anyone had similar issues? Should I make an eye appointment?

I never experienced any of that. Are you still on heavy pain mess? Opeats in higher doses could cause that sensation perhaps you should consult with your Dr (gastric) soon as in Monday morning or sooner. I don't feel its a eye issue per se seems more of a information transfer problem between your brain and information is being received and trying to sort itself out to make sence of it all but that's just my two cents but I would definitely speak with a doctor soon

Sometimes people have that issue after general anesthesia. Doesn’t hurt to check with your doc though.

It's called corneal abrasion. It's very common. During anesthesia our eyes don't shut closely and cornea is exposed and gets dry. Plus all the Patches and meds to dry us up to prevent any vomiting during intubation. I got blurred vision too after my vsg. It lasted more than a week then disappeared.

Thank you everyone! ❤️ Hopefully this goes away and doesn't last. Maybe it's a little bit of everything; restrictive diet, anxiety, lack of Vitamins (even though I take them), etc.

It’s a common side effect of anaesthesia

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
