colleen156 14 Posted June 28, 2019 My sleep test came back positive I just got off the phone with the doctor the question I have is should I call my surgeon to let him know that I have this or will they get a copy of the report. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
FluffySaysForkIt! 823 Posted June 28, 2019 They should send him the report, but it never hurts to be proactive and bring a copy of it with you too. While I am so sorry to hear you have the apnea to deal with, I am glad you found out about it! Please follow up with any treatment prescribed for it too. Apnea is no joke. It will affect not only the quality of your life, but possibly even the length of it if it is left untreated.
Frustr8 7,886 Posted June 28, 2019 Following this thread, my Son the Tomkitten yesterday had a BMI of just under 40, 39.8 or 39.9, our PCP ordered him a sleep study and told him it could be done at home. This is an option I was not offered in October 2017. Was yours like this or in a Sleep Lab setting at a Hospital like mine. Figure it will be positive, both my Daddy, may HE Rest in Peace, and I had that diagnosis, mine was more than once a minute, probably still should be wearing my C pap but after a loss of 170 pounds, it doesn't fit quite right. That would give him a secondary co- morbity, his lipids are not in normal range so we'll see if that's sufficient to move forward toward WLS. I didn't bring up the subject, made a promise to my Bari-pals I wouldn't. He said " Mom I want to look into this. I don't want to wait until I'm old for it" I call him my Baby but he honestly is an adult male. He has seen my trials, my tribulations closely, says he still wants to speak with my surgeon. So we will get an application and see what happens. I am very proud he is coming to this decision, but I'm still a Mommy, inside I am a little scared for him.
