CashmereAndBones 36 Posted June 28, 2019 Hey Guys 😞 Today is day 3 as my surgery was Wednesday. Today I woke up with a slew of weird things that have been happening. My vision seems extra blurry without my glasses and time seemed to be moving fast as the tv seemed sped up through my eyes but it wasn't which this eventually went away. I have constant dumping and can barely eat. I am struggling to get Water oz's in. I have chills and my anxiety (which I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder) is very high, I feel like I ruined my life and I wish I never got this surgery. I feel like I'm all alone and no one has these issues! 😞
Kara Duke 8 Posted June 28, 2019 I have not experienced any vision changes. You need to call your doctor! Sounds like you may have an infection? Hang in there, it gets better. Try to stay hydrated.
Frustr8 7,886 Posted June 28, 2019 Scopalamine is notorious for this, did you have a patch behind 9be eat? If you still have it there, put gl8ves on and remove it. And many of us are bleery- eyed for a while, give it a couple of weeks for you to detoxify, if you still have it then consult your eye professionals And most things do improve as you recover!😝

gabybab 696 Posted June 28, 2019 I'm going to be honest and tell you I felt the exact same way. I regretted my surgery so bad the first week. After one month when I felt better and was put of pain and I could eat, I never looked back. The first month is just awful! I promise you will change your mind and come to be thrilled with your decision. Try and give it time. Best wishes to you! 2 BlueAngelEyes and CashmereAndBones reacted to this

I feel like my anxiety went from like 0-100 ever since I had the proceedure but it's probably because my brain is like not sure why I'm eating so little and my body isn't used to the deficit of foods and my life has completely changed. I feel a little better today but still feel blah. I'm hoping after a month I'll feel great again.
DrButterfly 9 Posted June 30, 2019 I had the inability to focus right after surgery and I took the patch off from behind my ear and a day later, my vision came back. Honestly, I am 2 1/2 weeks out and I have moments of regret. I think it is just a huge step and it is scary enough besides the pain and lack of eating. It has been getting better. I believe others that say in the long run I will be happy with this decision. Hang in there! 1 CashmereAndBones reacted to this

Know that your experience is being informed by your Anxiety and so it would seem like people didn't have post surgery experience like you are having as if you are an outlier and there's something significantly wrong. This is not true, just Anxiety Speaking. You won't regret this surgery, these post surgical difficulties ALWAYS passes and nothing Catastrophic would happen as it's in Anxiety's nature to Catastrophize things. Just remember to do your mindfulness and deep breathing exercises, remind yourself why you did this surgery, all the good things in your future, talk to your psychiatrist/therapist about what they can do to help you adjust to these struggles. Talk with your surgical team so you don't have time stewing about the unknown or having anticipatory anxieties of the unknown. Heightened anxiety about things real or imagined interrupts your healing process. Take it back to the basics. Your fluids, pain meds and do the best you can do and let your team do the rest. You are not an outlier, you didn't make a mistake, death (especially untimely) is never better for things that are temporary. I bet you will feel differently a week from today hence don't take your temporary situation as permanent. Take care and you have a host of support here cheering you and your journey on as we know definitely you will be an inspiration for someone else soon.Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 CashmereAndBones reacted to this

Deedee12 1,860 Posted July 1, 2019 It will get better!! Surgery is a serious trauma on the body! The entire process of it is like an assault/abuse (albeit necessary) to our system. You should feel better soon and Celebrate every moment you feel an improvement incrementally and over time, normalcy will come. One day at a time or if possible, 1 8hr block at a time to feel something. Talk with both bariatric and surgical team to make sure you didn't miss anything or there's nothing you should worry about and if they say nothing, then believe it and continue your healing process. Have a great evening. 🤞🤞🤞 Tomorrow is another day!Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 CashmereAndBones reacted to this
BlueAngelEyes 164 Posted July 1, 2019 I didnt have my eyes blurry sfter surgery but My toes tingled for 2 weeks after sleeve surgery. It was hard to sleep and i wanted to hit my foot on a rock to stop the tingling. It eventually stopped. Thank god! Iam a month out now and i still regret every day i got this stupid surgery. Ive lost 27pounds but feel like its going slower than i thought cause in the past on the hcg diet i was losing a pound a day so frusterating. Its my fault for not doing enough research on this. Dumping i had alot in the beginning but that did get better. First week it happened everyday. 2nt and 3rd week only when my body wasnt ready for certain foods and 4th week i actually am constipated alot and wondering what i should eat that will make me go. Hehe so gross sorry to talk about. Things will get better in some sence of it all. Hopefully in a year we will be thankful we did this ****.. 1 1 CashmereAndBones and Frustr8 reacted to this
