I never had problems with eggs, but I do know it's pretty common. Most people can eat them eventually, though

When I first started with eggs, I added an 1/8th of a cup of low fat cottage cheese to my scrambled eggs (when they're almost finished cooking). It keeps them from getting too dry/difficult to swallow.

Nearly one year post op and still can't eat eggs. Scrambled, fried, hard boiled. Loved them pre surgery but now they make me nauseous.

I tryed eggs a week ago and i wasnt ready for it ,pain in my chest felt funny and hurt so i waited a week and tryed it again and now my body is fine with eggs. I tryed making deviled eggs the other day grosses thing i ever ate post sleeve. The taste of eggs and cheese is funny tasting i dont think i will be eatting anymore anytime soon. I loved eggs before so hoping my taste buds change back eventually.

In the early stages, if I ate an egg it felt like I ate a rock...no matter how it was cooked! I'm fine with them now.

My plan had us start out on egg beater only (basically yellow egg whites in a carton) for the first 2 weeks of soft stage. After one week and no problems I called and asked (begged) if I could have real eggs. They said go ahead, just go slow. I was never so happy to have an egg before.

Maybe egg beaters will be tolerated easier for you.

I ate my first scrambled egg yesterday. (I had egg salad on week 2 and did fine). I didn’t have any problems with the scrambled eggs. However, I couldn’t finish the whole egg—I got full. I just made sure to chew mine extra good. My dog enjoyed my leftovers. Lol

I also had eggs for the first time yesterday (surgery 6.19.19) and after half an egg with a little bit of hummus for taste and I was able to keep it down with no problems but I definitely was full and made sure to stop when I felt even slightly full.

eggs sound sooooo good right now. I’m on liquids for 3 weeks and tomorrow makes a week.

It tasted amazing but I was super careful to take the tiniest bites and chew like crazy. I also have been lucky with a smooth recovery and likely less swelling than some experience.

Today I barely scrambled 1 XL egg and could only handle half of it within a 20min setting. It was an interesting experience.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
