I'm having an awful time with returning to my old habits. I was doing so well and now I feel like I've wasted the opportunity I was given to get healthy. I have been thinking about trying a 10 day "reset diet" but I'm kind of skeptical if it actually works. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Hi!

Did you return to your team for help & tips first?

That might be the place to start.

But also motivation may be hard to find on your own so maybe returning to bariatric support groups if you've stop attending.

Have you attempted to refine your diet again? Perhaps removing the foods that arent on your initial plan may kickstart weightloss immediately.

Good luck 💜

YOU can do it 🏆

Yes, I agree go back to your team and start there. I'm 5 years out today. I had some regain and I got inside my own head, searching everything I could to lose it. Once I had a health scare, I got OUT of my own head and went back to doing what I knew. My regain came off. I went back to my team and see them occasionally, even 5 years out! Good luck

I have regained a bit as well and have been wanting to do the two week reset. I have heard from others that it works, but am not sure myself. I keep telling myself "I'll start tomorrow" then lunch rolls around and I am so hangry that I give in to food and not the shakes. I don't have a "team" and have never really had one. My doctor's office has always seemed uninterested and very in and out. The last time I talked with my doctor about the weight gain, they suggested I take Multivitamins and do some crunches. I have IC so going to the gym is difficult for me, so I feel like the reset would be most beneficial. When I finally do start, I will share my results.

I to have gone back to some old habits and now that I gained enough weight back to beat myself up . I no longer even live in the same state to go in for a follow up . I am the point that I can’t eat a lot of foods but still can’t seem to lose . The shakes all taste so sweet I can’t get myself to drink them .

You could always tweek it and do a day or 2 of liquids then go to 3 squares meat or seafood and some veggies (no snacking ) and make sure you weigh and measure your portions. Its hard getting off the carbs once you start them. ( I am not talking about rice or potato ) Processed food and junk food can be the worst. Good luck

If you’ve stopped tracking your food, load an app (I use LoseIt) and start tracking again. Don’t stop tracking! That personal accountability habit is key.

There is Step One. 🙂

My clinic is in another state .

It is possible to find a new bariatric surgeon where you live now. I moved 250 miles after my first surgery and got a new surgeon as soon as I moved. You need one to keep track of your yearly bloodwork. Plus if you end up with any complications you will want one that is familiar with you.

Intermittent fasting might do the trick.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
