abeaher 0 Posted November 19, 2007 I am getting UHC in Jan and will have my 1st consult with Dr. Turnquest in Houston jan 3. I am concerned that I won't get coverage because my BMI is 39 and I don't have co-morbidities. I will do the surgery regardless, but I am looking for financing options in the event that insurance denies. Can anyone help? I can only afford about $250-$300 a month on a loan payment. starting weight
destiny79 0 Posted November 19, 2007 eat for the holiday and go to your consultation the only requirement for UHC is a BMI over 40 or 39 and under 2 comob. so gain that extra 10 pound get approved and loss it back. I know you don't want to gain the weigh.
VegasGrace 1 Posted November 19, 2007 Sure, you will hear about CareCredit as I see this alot...but wouldn't do it. Your best bet is to find a surgeon who doesn't rip you off upfront...or in the end. Next, look to getting someone else to pay... as in insurance. Also heard if you work at Starbucks their insurance will pay. But as far as financing, get a low as possible interest rate. I used my overdraft protection/line of credit. credit unions often times have the lowest interest. Good luck.
