So how do you feel? Is it like when we had the band placed? I had surgery on a Friday, went to church that Sunday but could not sit that long (2hrs) and came home. The next day I had classes and walk the campus and thought I would die but kept going. Really do not remember any other pain after those 3 days. Just wondering if the pain will be the same. Thank you so much!

Honestly less pain for me this time around. I remember being ridiculously exhausted for a few weeks after the insertion. With the removal, I had it done on a Friday and I went back to work on Sunday and never stopped. I was just relieved to have the band out!

Looking forward to the sleeve and I truly believe the band has emotionally/mentally prepared me for the sleeve so I can be thankful for the band about that. I just feel I am going into this surgery better equipped....we'll see.

Yes, absolutely! So I am guessing you too will have to wait the 3mths for healing and then revised to the sleeve? I am so glad we have surgeons that have our best interest at heart! Good luck to you and I wish you the best, please keep in touch!

Thanks so much!!
My surgeon wanted at least 6 weeks wait so the stomach gets a chance to heal and prevent a leak.
I wanted an August date to get summer out of the way.
Good luck as well and I will be watching out for your progress while keeping you updated![emoji253][emoji253]

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
