after weight loss surgery...

I used a recliner some after surgery, then my regular bed was fine.

I bought a Purple bed with an adjustable base last fall. Best investment ever! Stupid base was a lot but it’s great. It did come in exceptionally helpful in the post op recovery.

Recliner, finally bed, yeah wish my own bed had been adjustable, would have back to bed a lot quicker. Went from having to push myself upright out of the chair, when you have arthritis your body likes freezing in one position m And the next step was wiggling and squirming to the edge to try sitting up before you wet yourself . At 72 both Mother Nature and Father Time curse you and being the possessor of 3 kidneys, a Birthday gift from my parents gene pool, they also were also blessed? with 3 apiece. Means you produce copious urine frequently. Does come handy when a medical person demands an urine sample, never totally dry inside, even when I teeter on dehydration I can get out a teaspoon (15ml) or 2. Sometimes I move fast enough to make it to the Chamber Room, sometimes not. One of my Comical friends gave me a box of Adult Pull-ups, the laugh's on her because sometimes I do wear them! No shame, no blame, oldest Bari-patient is MY. True NAME!

I slept in my regular bed but with about 8 pillows behind me and next to me to prop me up and my arms as well. Worked nicely

I have a reclining sofa so just slept there at first until I was comfy for my bed

Ooh how I envy you that! That is almost like a Cleopatra Couch, I need me one of them! Bring me a grape, gently peeled! And maybe some of that lucious Greek Yogurt you're holding!

Yes, I wish I had an adjustable bed. I clearly have survived without one though, so it isn’t necessary, but it would be nice.

Unfortunately I do not have a Cleopatra couch. Just a regular three seat sofa where the two seats on either end recline like a regular recliner chair. That does sound nice though

I have a Saatva bed with adjustable base. It was a game changer after surgery, and still very nice to have. I went from bed to recliner to bed. Lying flat wasn't fun, comfortable or easy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
