Cashunda 2 Posted June 15, 2019 I am so excited, nervous, and a little scared all in one. I finally have insurance that cover bariatric surgery and I didn’t waste no time applying. I had my first consultation June12 and I only have a 90 day process. I have to see a nutritionist 3 times and the surgeon visit count as one so I only I have to do 2 classes and psych evaluation plus an ekg. I’m so excited I was expecting 6months or longer. The surgeon will do the Sleeve and later down the road he’ll do a bypass. What is the nutrition class like?
Hop_Scotch 1,632 Posted June 15, 2019 I haven't been to a nutrition class but I did do one on ones with a dietician, just discussed current diet, what diet I will need pre op / post op...etc. Any reason the surgeon isn't doing a bypass to start with? Will your insurance cover the original surgery plus a revision? 1 CCJC reacted to this
Cashunda 2 Posted June 15, 2019 My insurance does cover revisions. I had surgery for severe endometriosis and it wasn’t all removed. I also had complications during that surgery and he doesn’t know if I have scar tissue and he wants my belly fat to shrink some first. So basically he said he will have to look inside first and that the sleeve would be the safest option right now.
