It sounds like you might benefit from talking to a therapist that specializes in bariatric patients. One thing the surgery won't do is prevent you from eating the "worst food." You will still be able to eat unhealthy food with your sleeve. If I get hungry during the night I drink almond milk because it's filling and low calorie. To lose weight, sleeve or no, you will need to eat a healthy, low-calorie diet.

I think as long as I keep something healthy I can grab I’ll be find and I love almond mild too 💗

Surgery is just a tool and won't help you with the head hunger or choosing wrong foods to eat or night eating. Have you thought about going to the group therapy classes offered by your surgeon's office? The head hunger is more of a battle than physical hunger.

Yes the last time I tried for surgery I did the group therapy and it was wonderful and I plan and going again

I’m feeling less than stellar. The gas pains and pressure are awful. But happy to be on this side of it all!

I'm sorry the gas pains are showing their ugly faces :( what all did they have you do after you showed up to admissions?

I was pre-registered, so I literally showed up to the surgery waiting room and went back to get prepped 30 min later!

Today is actually worse for me. Didn’t get to go home. I’ve been walking constantly and still feel the most bloated I’ve ever felt. I have been sipping my fluids and tonight tried some Protein and the shake feels like it is stuck in my stomach. Still full two hours later and only got 6 ounces in. Here’s to trying to stay positive and feeling better tomorrow!

I'm sure in a few months this will just be a blip on the radar compared to how great you are going to feel :)

I wasn’t worried during the whole three year process of trying to get it done. A week before my surgery I lost my mind and was all of a sudden scared that I might die in surgery(literally hit me like a brick wall). My mom(who also had gastric bypass had the same dr as me) told me it’s like taking a bandaid off for them. I even looked up the chances of death(I thought it was stupid of me but it oddly made me feel better) and you have a higher chance of dying from gallbladder or hip surgery. I was so scared I even watched a video of the surgery being performed to see what might go wrong. My mom said I was crazy but they did it with ease and it made me feel better 😂

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
