Stay the course and stick to the plan. It will be difficult at first but remember you are one step closer to surgery day.

Good luck.

Mine started yesterday! Are you on only liquids or can you have a meal?

It’s so interesting to see how different every surgeon is. We don’t have to do the 2 week preop diet. Our only requirement is liquid only the day before surgery and nothing the morning of.

Try filling up on no calorie things, diet Jello, popsicles, broth etc. To help cut down on hunger. Stay the course and it will be over before you know it.

To me the pre-op was harder than afterwards. Its hard, but you will love your results. Congrats and best wishes!💗

Stick to it. It's there for a reason. It's important to follow the program to the letter. Drink a variety or fluids to keep you interested. sugar-free popsicles are a lifesaver.

Wow lucky you, I have to do 14 days of liquid with one healthy meal daily.

I am on day 3 of my one week liquid diet, and it isn't so bad. I am allowed up to 5 shakes a day, sugar- free Jello and popsicles, and 2 cups of any combo of fruit or veggies a day. I have not found myself to be hungry, but my brain definitely wants to eat!

I have to do my pre-op diet for 2 weeks. The first night I had a massive headache That has finally gone away. It is interesting that each doctor prescribes a different pre-op diet for everybody.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
