I know we all lose weight differently and cannot control where/how BUTTTTTT, does anyone have any suggestion to increase weight loss in the legs (the whole leg- calf, thigh) or does it eventually just happen. I found some youtube exercise videos and am going to start those along with walking daily but damnit, I cannot for the life of me get the weight to drop at all on my legs. I am losing everywhere else but legs are stubborn and I can't even get a pair of jeans to fit right now because my waist is like a 16 and my legs are not there .... :( very frustrating!

I hear ya. Even when I'm the right size, my thighs are disproportionately large and I wish there was a way to just get rid of some of the excess leg area. I've even thought of "cool sculpting" but i can't afford it.

Honestly my legs are going to be the first thing I “fix” surgically once this is done.
I plan on getting to goal weight, see if anything readjusts itself for a year, then ruthlessly take care of any problem areas once I’m sure my body has settled in to its goal weight shape.

I wear a full size larger for bottoms than I do for tops and A-line dresses are the only ones that work for me.
Even back when I was in my early 20’s and was 130 pounds and a size 4/6, I had thunder thighs and major thigh rub. *sigh*

I dont mind being thicker on the bottom but I want to just lose some weight there!!!!!!

I have nothing against having hips or curves to some degree but i don't want calves the size of thighs!

I hate my "cankles"! I'm almost at goal weight now, and not surprised to see that they haven't changed shape. My calves pretty much run straight down to my feet like tree trunks. [emoji31]

Much of these responses are correct. It is difficult to target specific areas of your body for weight loss. You can however, target areas for muscle toning and i think that might help you. I know i know, people all say they done want to build so much muscle that they become buff and look like a body builder. Dont worry...you wont. You should start thinking about doing a combination of lower body resistance training along with HIIT cardio. If you need some more explanation of what those are, let me know.

Just like loose skin, some things are inevitable. If we are "hippy", as my wife likes to say, it may be difficult to loose that lower body weight at the start. All i can say is to get to it and see what kind of results you can get.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
