My surgery was 3/27 and I had my gallbladder taken out yesterday. How has your recovery been?

Hi, I had gastric sleeve surgery on the 15th of April and on the 1st of June had my gallbladder taken out as an emergency surgery. Never had any problems before with gallstones, but I am thinking I am still better off lighter and healthier and at least my gallbladder won’t make troubles anymore. I am healing well, but now have an abundance of small scars on my belly 😂

Did any of you have Gall Bladder issues prior to wls? I have had 2 really bad bouts and several not so bad bouts of Gall Bladder "attacks". I am preop (10/1/19) and after reading some info online, I decided to let the doctor rip it out on 5/9/19.

The article I read stated it was better to have it out prior to wls. But, then again....you can find exactly what "you" want to read or hear on the internet.

Not exactly but similarly I had gall bladder symptoms. during my last pregnancy. OB-Gyn argued with me, had multiple excuses for the pain. I was right, he was wrong, General surgeon took it out when Tomkitten was still a baby.
Yeah, I think you were wise to have it done, now get your Healthy back because this Autumn will be bringing you a Life Change too! God Bless and I wish you the Best NOW and also THEN!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
