KCgirl061 1,532 Posted June 10, 2019 Are we allowed to donate blood? Has anyone ever been given the go ahead? Prior to donating they encourage you to eat a high Iron food items and be well hydrated, both of which can be issues for bariatrics. Just curious if anyone had asked their doctors about this. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
GradyCat 3,695 Posted June 10, 2019 That's a good question. I hadn't thought of it. I've always been anemic, so I can't donate blood anyway, but that's a good question. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
Ellf 205 Posted June 10, 2019 I read that you shouldn't donate blood until you're 3-6 months out, but it's a question that you should ask your surgeon. 1 1 GreenTealael and KCgirl061 reacted to this

They are giving out Royals baseball tickets at the blood drive. Very tempting, but probably not worth potential dehydration and anemia. Just curious. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
elcee 3,341 Posted June 10, 2019 No idea, I’m not allowed to donate anyway. I live in Australia and anyone that lived in the UK for 3 months or more in the late 70s early 80s is excluded in case they have Mad Cow Disease.
