Have you tried Melatonin? It works well, or maybe you should ask your doctor.... try to be more active. It will help you sleep. Good luck !

If you are sleeping 8 hours and still wiped out it might be an Iron, B12, D, or other deficiency . Ask your Doctor. I have to take an iron supplement everyday, it really helps me.

I wouldn’t try a sleep aid first if I was already sleeping 8 hours. Heads up, I did some weird stuff on Ambien!

Also consider routine/behavior changes :

Long novels, Audible (meditation books, boring books or monotone actors) youtube playlists of sleep sounds & white noise, a device free bedroom

Good Luck! 💖

Sudafed- i just took two for allergy or cold something I have going on right now and want to face plant on my desk LOL

but really- everyone's suggestions are good. I am still tired some days more than others. Exercise really helps me have more energy but also then helps me sleep better.

Or I could send you a tape of me reciting my Weight Loss Trials and Tribulations. Most people find it puts them right to sleep, even the ones who weren't planning a Nap!

I have always had insomnia and done several over the counter meds but as soon as my body builds up a tolerance they no longer work.

A few years ago my doctor prescribed Trazadone. It's a sedative so doesn't come with all the scary side effects that some true sleeping meds have, but it puts me to sleep within 15 minutes and I sleep all night long. It worked wonders before surgery and now post-op it works even better. Pair that with eating better and working out more gives me the sleep I need and the energy I need during the day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
