Hi all! I’m new here. Had RNY ON 6/3. I’m doing really well, but still having a bit of soreness at the upper right incision area. Is this normal?

Thanks!!! 🤗

The reason that incision will hurt more than the others is because its the port site used for a liver retractor - during the surgery more torque is put on it to lift the liver away from the stomach while they work on creating your bypass. The other ports don't stress the surrounding tissue. Hope that helps ease your mind!

Yes, absolutely normal, that's the main one where larger stuff went in and out and it was attached the muscle.
