Fat tissue can tie up Vitamin D, rendering many people to be deficient. Have any of you found that your post op blood work was showing higher levels of Vitamin D? Did getting rid of fat help your body utilize Vit D better?

Oh, I so hope this happens for me. I've been battling low Vitamin D for a year and a half with little to no results.

Me too, have to take extra Vitamin D, Iron , and Calcium although not all at the same moment. And the Magnesium fairy is waving her little hand to remind she's there also. Did you know you can't take Calcium and Magnesium at the same time? They are both Positive ions and head for the same receptor. Just another thing to schedule 2 hours apart. I feel like I'm selecting from a Chinese menu, 1 from Column A, 2 from Column B and bring me this one in Column C for dessert!

and don't take Iron and Vit D together. The iron binds up the Vit D. I take my multi/biotin/B-12 with breakfast/lunch and then the calcium/D with dinner.

I've been on a prescription Vit D for going on 2 years and it's still almost nonexistent...when I first had it checked it was 7 and my last check a few weeks back was 13

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
