I can’t eat anything, everything comes back up. My doctor says that it’s food aversion but I don’t think so I think something is wrong
Kitty0422, how far post surgery are you? What type of surgery did you have? I have a stricture and I am 10 weeks post RNY gastric bypass. My problems started around 3 1/2 weeks post op. I was incredibly nauseous and had pressure in my throat and pouch. I could not tolerate shakes or anything. Do you have any symptoms besides vomiting?

I’m 5 weeks post op, I had the gastric bypass. Like you I have pressure in my pouch, I feel like my dr isn’t taking it seriously and I’m so worried because I live off of Water and Isopure Protein which I’m having a hard time tolerating.

Hmmm. I really don't want to scare you, but it sounds like a stricture. You can get an upper GI xray and it will show if you have a stricture. You need to get your doctor to take you seriously! Ask him if he thinks you have a stricture. Please take care. You can always pm me if you want.

I told someone they could PM me, all they said was "Ha ha ha" scarcely worth going there to check it out! Is someone else besides me a comic?

And you're right Briswife, I was thinking the same thing, if not strictured, she has a swollen pouch or VSG tube and does need checked out. Hope she does get help!

Was the obstruction from your original surgery or just coincidental? I’m hlad you gotbit taken care of and hope you have smooth sailing now.

Hello everyone, I ended up having emergency surgery on 6/14/19. I had a bowel obstruction making it difficult for me to hold solid food down.

So sorry to hear this, but glad the problem is taken care of now. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
