I'm scheduled for RNY on July 3. I began my process in Feb with the seminar, and I'm relieved and excited that my day is finally coming up.

I'll be in the hospital for 2 nights, so I'll be watching 4th of July fireworks on TV in my hospital room lol

Hello!!!

I am set for 7/2 at730am. I will be having gastric bypass with cholecystectomy.

I would love to be your buddy :) Looking for one myself. My BMI is 41 currently, and I have no other issues. Basically healthy obese person, just can never lose all the weight I have needed to with diet and exercise!

I have had 2 c-sections (last one 5 years ago). My worry is more for scar tissue and pain management afterward! Plus I am a nurse in the hospital where I am having the procedure so of course that gives me a little nerves. I am super excited for the journey though! I can't wait. You are having yours done in Mexico?

Does your surgeon think you will have a good weight loss with the revision? It seems to be missed opinions about what to expect

I’ve seen the mixed opinions as well, and it honestly made me nervous, while waiting for my revision. I was revised VSG to RnY 6/4 and my one month was 29# including pre op diet, 15.2# since day of surgery. My VSG pre op and first month was 29.9# and I weighed 60+ lbs more with my VSG. I’m feeling good about it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
