The last week in a half now I have been so drained. I thought it maybe because I came on my monthly , but this is something different. I usually go straight to the gym after work, but lately I have only been 3 days. I'm just so exhausted, I can bearly make it through my 8 hours at work. I'm going to the gym tomorrow but now I'm worried about gaining. Shouldn't be because I can not anyways. 3 bites and I'm full. Still having a hard time drinking 64 oz of fluids. It will be 3 months out on 6/20 and I hope I have not gained. Just don't know how to get more energy, this just hit me at once last week. Hope it's almost over.

Really try to focus on your fluids. Dehydration leads to fatigue as your body tries to reserve resources.

Hope you're feeling like yourself again soon!

Depending on where you live, it could be the weather. I find heat and humidity draining and summer is here.

I'm sorry you are feeling so tired. As for the Water, I was having a hard time getting my 64 oz in also until I figured out that if I drink 8 oz every hour for 8 hours I can get it in. That gives you a full hour to drink 8 oz. If your exhaustion does not remedy itself I suggest seeing your surgeon. Good luck with your water and everything else. You have this.

I agree with others, focus on Water intake. A week after surgery I was back in for IV fluids.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
