21pilots 19 Posted June 3, 2019 So I have no thyroid due to thyroid cancer 5 years ago so I have to be on thyroid meds for life. I was on 212 mg pre op but I read some articles that your tsh levels go down 9 mg a day post op and you have to adjust your medication. What has been your experiences post op regarding adjusting medication. I am very anxious about over medicating or under so I can properly lose weight. I requested my blood be tested a week after surgery and it was fine and I’ve had great energy. How often should you get tsh levels tested? Any help is greatly appreciated. Losingit2018 1,170 Posted June 3, 2019 My PCP checks my levels every 6 months. I did not have much change in levels until recently when my med had to be increased.
GradyCat 3,695 Posted June 3, 2019 I haven't been to my PCP since having the sleeve, so they haven't been tested. Good to learn this as I will have her test them next time I see her.
