ovogabriella 4 Posted June 1, 2019 I was sleeved a few days ago 5/29 and I actually felt a lot better yesterday than I do today. I haven't had any Protein, I cant stomach the Premier Protein, and I feel to weak to go to the store and buy some. I keep falling asleep I have no energy. I still have some gas pain in my chest, I’ve been trying to walk around the house to relieve that pain but earlier I feel like I almost fainted I couldn't stand up in the shower. Is this weakness just a normal part in the healing process? Should I try to walk it off or let myself sleep? Not feeling so great hope everyone who was recently sleeved is feeling better. 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
rs 1,473 Posted June 1, 2019 Perhaps you are dehydrated. I had a similar situation after my surgery last summer and ended up needing an IV of fluids put in me. I recommend drinking more and taking it easy physically to let your body heal, don't walk it off or push yourself. Good luck! 1 1 sillykitty and GreenTealael reacted to this
JanJan19 205 Posted June 1, 2019 Do you have grocery delivery near you? Or costco delivery? (they carry the shakes) Sorry to hear you're feeling bad. Only you can determine if it's "normal" bad or if you need to call your dr. Don't be afraid to reach out to them if you think you need it! I was sleeved 5/23. I feel overall great, but I'm noticing in the last couple days how tired I am and low energy. But I'm really not getting as much of the Protein or Water as I should be & I know I'm recovering from surgery & also have a massive work deadline, so heh. 3 sillykitty, GreenTealael and rs reacted to this
Colorado Cowgirl 170 Posted June 1, 2019 You need to rest and sleep. You had major surgery. It takes a while to get the anesthesia out of your system. And you are taking in very few calories. I was exhausted for several weeks. I think it's totally normal. You have the rest of your life to walk. Be kind of yourself! 3 Shanda_2019, rs and sillykitty reacted to this
Shanda_2019 77 Posted June 2, 2019 Glad to know I’m not the only one. I’m 10 days post op with 0 energy to do anything. It’s hard to meet the Protein and Water goals but I’m trying. I just really want to feel normal again but I know that will take time. 2 rs and sillykitty reacted to this
PinePal 9 Posted June 2, 2019 Careful with walking too much. I was sleeved on 5/20 and 5 days out took a long walk with my husband, bad idea. I ended up causing muscle spasms in my stomach according to my surgeon when I had so much incision pain I called him. Be easy on your body for a bit. 😁 1 rs reacted to this
mrs_brontosaurus 12 Posted June 5, 2019 I was sleeved on the 29th too and I’m completely exhausted and if I stand for more than a few minutes I feel like I’ll faint. I’ve had my mom and sister here to help me with The kids because I couldn’t do it on my own. I called my doctor yesterday and they said to drink more Water. I’m doing my best but so far I still feel weak and dizzy. I hope there are answers at my post op appointment tomorrow because I can’t live like this and it’s beginning to make me regret surgery. Frustr8 7,886 Posted June 5, 2019 And you undoubtedly are at a Calorie Deficit, this is your body's way of saying " For Gods sake, girl, you just had Major Surgery- sit us down before you topple over!" let Bronto- Grandma and Bronto- sissy help a little, obviously they ❤ a whole bunch. My daughter , the RD , short for Rotten Daughter, lives 6/10ths of a mile from me, wouldn't turn her hand to help me, there is one of those in every family, and I had the horrid luck to birth Mine! I no longer plot revenge, Karma is going to get her and it may be soon. Already wrote my Death Notice/ Eulogy for our local newspaper, when you're 72 and facing surgery you think about such things. Anyway it says at the end" She is also survived by Mrs_____. her daughter, with whom she was estranged at the time of her death." And the publisher of our Local Newspaper, I graduated from High School with her older sister, so it is cleared it will be published just That Way! My son, the Tomkitten knows just where to locate it and has promised to submit it. And it will also not say "Blankety- blank Funeral Home is honored to serve my family" I dealt with these people for all of my family's funerals, okay people but they took every drop of Life Insurance money coming, not a nicety but a business with substantial profit. Late hubby thought he was leaving Tomkitten and I sitting pretty, nope, had to keep on working to keep us fed, so nice as things look, IT IS A Racket, pure and clear. And day by day you are going to get stronger, more healthy, less "OMG WHAT DID I LET MYSELF IN FOR? ", the sun will shine, the birdies tweet tweet once again, this I Do Promise! It takes a while,to Be the Very Best and to Feel the Very Best! And I pray for everyone on Bariatric Pal, even the ones who didn't ask ME,to. Figure that will be between Me and GOD in the long run! 1 mrs_brontosaurus reacted to this
mrs_brontosaurus 12 Posted June 7, 2019 Thank you, Frustr8. I am beginning to feel a bit better. I had some Soup and it was good. I am dehydrated according to my doctor and I’ll need to go get a bag of fluids on Monday. I also got thrush from the antibiotics I had to take pre-op. Lots of little bumps in the road but I know I’ll get better. I’m sorry to hear about your daughter. It’s a shame she treats you that way. Families can be very difficult. Stitches78 65 Posted June 7, 2019 I can tell you that I feel that weakness as well. I came home from the hospital yesterday and felt great. I even walked to the mailbox (which is up a hill a few blocks away). But today, i was too tired to walk down the street. So I've been sticking to the inside since it's almost to 100 here. I found that drinking Water and brother seems to help. But yeah, take it easy. You gotta find the balance. You don't want to push yourself too hard.
