Hi, everyone I'm a newbie and I had my procedure on 17-05-2019 and yesterday it was my best friend's birthday and since she doesn't know I already had the procedure and for some reason I didn't tell her so she insisted to go for dinner in Mexican restaurant . she ordered taco as she know I love it so much and now the weird thing is that I ate half of it and then I felt like severe pain but the day has passed and she was so happy and the was the most important thing so I really so shy to ask my surgeon about the risks of this thing as he will be frustrated as he already warned me and he will never understand the relation between my friend and me so I'm asking here is there any further risks except the harsh pain as I will never do again ☺️ thank you all in advance

The first time I got what we call "the foamies" was after eating a soft taco in a Mexican Restaurant. Five and a half months post-op I still can't eat a soft tortilla because my body won't tolerate it. Other than that, you did no harm to yourself, so don't worry.

this early out, you should be sticking to your program. You're still healing and can injure your stomach if you don't. If your friend cares about you, then she'll be fine with you eating what you're supposed to be eating.

That's good. Just wondering why haven't you told your friend??

Sent from my Moto E (4) using BariatricPal mobile app

she always tell me that it's okay to be overweight and she also somehow overweight so if I told her she might feel like upset of her body and she is okay about being overweight I don't want her to feel such bad thing

The "foamies" are when you eat something that you're not ready for and you throw up, but you don't throw up food, you throw up foam and mucus and your stomach tightens and cramps up and you know right away that you shouldn't have eaten it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
