Sugar free electrolyte powder

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

I'm going to have my sleeve in just under three weeks. Knowing that I go back to work at my busy NYC ER (I'm a nurse) at 2 weeks post op, I'm in search of a really good electrolyte powder that's sugar free. Summer is our down season and I'll have no heavy lifting (I work in pediatrics), but I'd love to have something in powdered form so that I don't have to carry bottles of fluids in with me for my shifts.

If all else fails, I know my colleagues will hook me up with a bag of fluids during my break, but I'd rather it not come to that....

Thanks for your recs.

I've tried several of them but they tend to give me heartburn. I only use them on long bike rides or when running longer distances when the weather is hot.

costco has individual packets. I'm sorry I don't know the calories, but saw them sampling them today while I was there.

I still drink Core or smart Water at 3 months out.

Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
