So is mine.....The surgeon said they go through a lot of muscles. His instructs were if it is brought on by moving and resolves with resting its muscle. If associated with food or fluids at all I am to call him. He said of course you should expect muscle pain there are 6 port sites. He said also call him with anything that doesn't seem right. Its his job to figure it all out. Mine was 5/23

Yes - I had a revision too and when I woke up from surgery I honestly thought the surgeon had ripped out my left ovary because it was SO painful. The pain lasted a good 2-3 weeks afterwards. It does go though. Hang in there.

I'm 12 days post op. My left side has been killing me since day 1. I've asked about it even after my drain was removed but they said it's normal and just take Tylenol. That's not helping, lol. I feel like a little old lady, hunched over when I walk because standing straight is a no bueno for me, lol.

I'm having RNY monday and during my pre-op class last week we were told that our left side would have more pain due to the incision there is the one the doctor uses to pass the instruments thru. The nurse said our muscles and nerves there might spasm and if it does to call and we would be given a muscle relaxer and that would help it alot.

I was just in the ER yesterday for this pain. CT scan showed I have a large hematoma that's causing me a great deal of pain. Thankfully there are not any leaks or infections. They prescribed me Percocet for the pain and said it'll surpass.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
