Pixie444 1 Posted May 24, 2019 I'm 5 weeks post-OP vsg and I'm having a period every other week. I've always been constant as far as getting it 28 days. Is this happening to any of you? 1 GreenTealael reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted May 24, 2019 this isn't all that uncommon. A lot of people get hormone dumps and their systems go haywire for awhile (affects some people's moods, too). Some people have said it's because estrogen is stored in fat, and when you lose weight really fast, all the extra estrogen is released. I don't know if that's true, but it makes sense. It should straighten itself out in a couple of months. 1 1 Pixie444 and GreenTealael reacted to this
queenren 2 Posted May 24, 2019 Same thing happened to me. My GYN couldn’t explain it. It worked itself out after a few months though. 2 GreenTealael and Pixie444 reacted to this

I was very emotional and she said it's from stored estrogen in the fat. 1 Pixie444 reacted to this

fizz_gonza 7 Posted June 10, 2019 Same happened to me. I'm 3 mo post op.. periods are getting more spaced out now, but they're also really light compared to what they used to be? Not complaining about that bit...however cramping/tiredness seems to be worse which blows. 1 Miss215 reacted to this

Dances with Carbs 168 Posted November 20, 2019 Right after surgery, mine started 2 weeks early. When I asked about it, they said the surgery really screws with hormones. That was apparent when my clear complexion went away and I looked 15 again.
Chardonnay40 153 Posted November 20, 2019 I just spoke to the surgeon about this bc I got mine (4 days early). This is not uncommon. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
