Alright @alex76 you’re up! You are the last one of us this week! Apparently all our surgeons like the beginning of the week!

How are all all you guys from Monday & Tuesday doing?

Hello! Leaving for the hospital in about 6 hours. I'm mostly excited, but a little anxious too.
I'm pretty sure that most surgeons wanted the long holiday weekend off too! LOL

Alex76, good luck today!! You’ve got this!! The nerves went away as soon as they gave me Versed and were wheeling me to OR asking about my babies. Great way to fall asleep...

Beginning day 6 of my pre op liquid meals, no longer suffering from hunger pains. Never really paid attention to how many food commercials there are! Have to keep switching channels to avoid them! Lol Surgery is July 12th for gastric bypass, so it’s getting close. Reading all the post and encouragement and information is really helpful. Thank you all! Any Delaware folks here? Well enjoy your 4th festivities!!

I'm on day 2 of the liquid diet and so far it's not bad. I really don't have to be around people eating since I work nights and sleep during the day...and I actually lost about 3.5 lbs of Fluid after day 1.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
