What is the name of these shakes, I had seen something similiar in slim fast the mocha, etc. But I was afraid of the carb intake. Where can I get them and what is the name of the shakes?

I recommend unjury Medical Quality protien shakes. They are designed for people with Lap Band/Bariatric surgery and are low in Carbs. The chicken Soup is so delicious I have it every evening. And there are 20 GRAMS OF Protein in each serving and only 90 calories. The other flavors are great too. Much better tasting than any other and well priced. My sister is a body builder and she loves it to - after I got my band she tried it and became a believer.

You can buy it at Welcome to the Unjury Homepage

Atkins shakes are all low carb and can be found at grocery stores. I go to Ralphs (it's a newly built store). If you go to a newer larger store they usually will have a bigger inventory (thus more flavors).

Slim-Fast also has a carb control version, but I think Atkins taste better. You should try both and see how you like them.

Slim Fast Optima has way too many carbs, but Slim Fast does put out a Lo Carb with about 5g carb, and doesn't taste too bad--for a canned shake!

I use whey Protein isolate only, which is purer than the whey Protein concentrate (which uses lactose as a filler). It's on the unjury website mentioned and also I find it at Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, books, DVDs & more with free shipping! (In the drug stores, the containers never say WPI (isolate) or WPC, so I just assume they are the concentrate). I order them so I'm sure.

I just love the chocolate malt and the belgian chocolate flavors and best of all, they taste even better in Water than they do milk! (Less carbs and fat) :(

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
