After WLS, I Gain A Little Weight When……

I go on vacation and eat what I want and don’t weigh myself. Now that I’m years out, the weight gain is fast and its slow to get back off.

When i look at a carb LOL

At least that is how I feel...however, mostly the scale goes up when I dont drink Water like I know it should be. It goes back down but takes a bit sometimes.

When I ate a pickled onion (small cocktail one!) ...

when I ate a slice of 'LivLife Low Carbs Seriously Seeded Loaf' - 68cals per slice, 3.8g carbs per slice!! 0.22g sodium per slice.

And, after just being away at the weekend - the weight goes up when I don't weigh myself every day! I tracked my food - kept below 1000cals, 25g carbs... maybe I didn't drink enough Water? ?!!

Eating anything new seems to cause a weight gain it seems ... "huff"....

@GreenTealael fantastic topic! :)

After WLS, I Gain A Little Weight When I eat red meat for three days in a row, and nothing moves down there (ahem!). A few prunes fix that though! 😉

Also, hitting the red wine on holiday doesn't help me to lose. 😒

Don't have a BM every day...

YES. I'm always amazed at how many lbs my bowels can carry!

Also, after WLS, I gain a little weight every time I have my period. Its like I spend 2 weeks to drop 5 bls. Then I gain 3-5lbs a week before my period...then I don't lose it til almost a week after. So that's about 2 weeks of every month that I'm struggling and discouraged.

So end result is that I have to lose the 3-5 lbs of Water from the monthly cycle and then 3-5lbs of my own honest weight loss. /hate

TRUTH!

Also, when I have my period, and when I ovulate.

And definitely "After WLS, I gain a little weight when I... step on the scales, convinced I did everything right the day before and that the numbers will reflect that!"

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
