Couch to 5K - Week of 18 – 24 November

Hi everyone,

this is our sixth week in the Couch to 5K program. This is designed to be a 9 week program, but you can repeat weeks (as I will be doing) until you are comfortable moving on. However, you are not supposed to skip weeks.

It has been strongly suggested by trainers and runners alike to NOT run on consecutive days.

More information can be found here: Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan

Attached are the first thru sixth weeks in detail

Anyone is free to join, no matter where we are!! :)

This is the place to check in and support with each other and see how it is going.

What week are you doing?

How is it going for you? Is it too difficult / too easy?

Any comments??

Good luck everyone!

:)

I went ahead and started week 2 rather than repeating week 1 and the first day went ok. Woo!

I may have to repeat this week before going on to week 3- that last 90 second run was definitely tougher than the first one.

Hope everyone is doing well!

I just did week 5 (day 1) and I loved it. I haven't run since last Tuesday so I was kind of dreading it because it seems so intense but I have to say. LOVED it. I could see how the running thing could get addictive.

Did the week 5 day 3 run for 20 minutes. Couple of times I thought I might not make it but I did. I had my usual yoga class this am, but I didn't run yesterday because of the weather so today I double up! How is the running going for the rest of you???

Trystelle - was the 20 minute run killer? I am totally afraid of that. I am hoping to make it through week 5 this week.

Hi Whos - the day one isn't too bad is it? It seems more scary then it is. You will be more than prepared for the 8 minute run tomorrow since you did an extra interval. I think I will be ready for day 2 but day 3 scares me!

Ok, I'm here. I haven't voted....I don't know whats wrong with me. I feel like I'm just going to fade away from running. My diet sucks. I'm sure that I consumed 4000 calories yesterday AND today. Not to mention thanksgivings coming up. WTF?!?!?!?!? I haven't actually worked out since last wednesday, and I'm supposed to meet with the trainer tomorrow. I was also supposed to start low carbing it yesterday, the Peanut Butter cups put a screeching halt on that one.

Ok I'm just blabbering on now.....

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
