daisy7914 10 Posted May 15, 2019 Hi everyone! I am exactly one week post-op as of today. Was wondering if anyone has had pain in the incision where they removed your stomach? I have been fine every day since the surgery. Today that spot in particular hurts just as much as it did the day I had the surgery. Any idea or thoughts why it would act up after 7 days? GradyCat 3,695 Posted May 15, 2019 I could sometimes feel a slight "pull" but never really had pain. Is it red or inflamed or anything? How does it look?

I wonder if I pulled it when I was sleeping last night. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
SusieQ2019 567 Posted May 15, 2019 The larger incision was painful even after a week. I am into week 2 and the pain is pretty much gone. As long as nothing is oozing out you should be fine. I switched up the way I sleep by alternating on each side. Also try not to lift anything heavy. 1 daisy7914 reacted to this

med28thmed 118 Posted May 15, 2019 lift yourself from sitting or lying down position using an arm chair or end of a table. You are still raw inside, it probably just got strained. Take it easy. 1 daisy7914 reacted to this

Thank you! I have been trying to be very careful with that. I guess sometimes we just forget... especially if we start feeling better.Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 daisy7914 reacted to this
mrblond 56 Posted May 16, 2019 i am over 3 weeks out and still get pain from time to time. I am not taking anything for pain, only taking Tylenol PM at night. I think its more that scab that forms over the incisions and how they solidify and then can crack when its stretched
chunkers123 9 Posted May 16, 2019 I had that issue as well. Had my bypass May 6th and went to my first week post op yesterday and my surgeon said he had to go deeper down in my muscle. I used a ice pack and made sure to take my oxy and Tylenol... I’m doing just fine now. The ice pack really helped me. 1 daisy7914 reacted to this

chunkers123 9 Posted May 16, 2019 Yep that’s exactly how it was with me. That was my first question I asked him. That one just kept giving me problems. Felt like I pulled a muscle or strained something. A weird painful feeling. 1 daisy7914 reacted to this

Today I have taken two so far. UghSent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

daisy7914 10 Posted May 16, 2019 Yep that’s exactly how it feels. Thank you so much. I honestly thought I was going crazy and was worrying that I had an infection inside. However, I have no other signs to indicate an infection. Can't wait for my follow up on Friday! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
