DeniseSchipper 2 Posted May 15, 2019 So I had surgery April 26, and I’m on week three, and I get soft foods. My doctor has me on only 500 cal for the first 3 to 6 months. Is that normal?
gabybab 696 Posted May 15, 2019 Not for me. I'm almost 3 months and my Dr said 1000. I exercise and track what I eat.
Mint2bskinny 21 Posted May 30, 2019 4/10/19 & Im 7 weeks now and my doctor said not to worry about calorie targets as long as im staying lower fat and high Protein. I honestly dont even get 3-400 calories a day right now. Week 6 I started whole food no restriction from them.
joejoetj 4 Posted June 2, 2019 (edited) My doc and dietitian also said not to count calories and to just stick to the eating plan. The dietitian said it creates more success because if you don't eat enough calories of Protein sometimes people will use the extra room in the "recommended" calories to justify bad eating/liquid calories etc. The dietitian also added that the "minimum" calorie requirements are not based on any established science.
