I'm Lyn, 26 from Ireland. I have at least 8st (112lbs) to lose. I keep trying and failing to lose a significant amount. Managed to lost 4st (56lbs) last year on a liquid vitamins diet, didn't reintroduce food properly and went a little crazy, piling it all back on bar about 10lbs.

Had considered lapband surgery about two years ago, then found the diet and decided to give that a shot, now I'm back to square one. :) Have given myself til 7th Jan to lose some weight if not will make an appointment for a consultation, just not sure where yet! It'll either be Ireland or Belgium/Prague.

Hi Lyn,

Welcome to LBT. I'm 27, and like you, I have yo-yo dieted for years. I lose, gain, lose, gain, etc. This is the best decision I've ever made. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

Hi there!

The great thing about being banded is that you no longer have to resort to wacky diets to lose weight (once you have proper restriction)! I'm very glad I got banded and would do it all over again if I had the choice!

Good luck on your weight loss journey--no matter what method you choose!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
