I had it all, dehydration and Constipation and still a little fresh off the table myself but I drank green tea and that helped. The more you walk the more the gas will "walk" its way out. Congrats and good luck.
Green tea is great...tough one to suggest because it is high in caffeine.... Decaffeinated if possible

Day 5 after sleeve, very tired, little energy, drinking 70+ oz. of Water a day. Premier shake is giving me the runs, taking 2 imodium to control that. Have lost 11.4 pounds so far. Also had my gallbladder removed at the same time as the sleeve. I'm planning to call my dr. tomorrow but does this sound like I'nm in the normal range of post op experiences? Thanks!

Did everyone leave their bandages on. I still have mine on. Underneath is steri strips. I'm not sure if I should let the air get to them or clean and change the bandages. Thoughts???

Surgeon told me to do exactly that
-may shower day after surgery and remove band aids (not to let shower spray directly onto streri-strips)
- steri-strips should be patted dry with a soft towel. Steri-strips will fall off in 5 to 6 days

My surgeon also told me same thing. Day after surgery shower then take off bandages keep steristrips on until they fall off. I’m post op day 7 now and I’ve only had about 1 fall off.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
