permanent skin discoloration from shots

Soooo I just noticed that I have a large brown patch of discoloration from where I was receiving blood thinner injections in the hospital after surgery.... six months ago. Are permanent changes in pigmentation normal? The bruise was MASSIVE and dark purple for weeks. 20190508_161110.jpeg

Interesting-are these just hemoglobin the body did not or could not break down?

I had a huge hematoma and wound up having an allergic reaction to the Lovenox. I had that discoloration but it is now gone and I'm 6 months and 2 days out!!
