I'm 10 months in gastric bypass and lost about 80 so far, and haven't last anymore since October. I know I'm eating wrong and what to change and eat things I know will make me sick. I'm ashamed of myself and want to change. I drink with food and over eat because of that. If I don't I can only eat about 4-6 of depending on what it is.. I look at calories and carb and try to stick it out at work. shake in the morning an Adkins meal for lunch by then it's like 500+ plus and feel that I've over eaten by then and then get home and stress over it and eat more.

On the positive plus side you've lost 80 pounds. OMG! That's GREAT! Way to go! Try to get back to eating like you did in the first month post-op, 600-800 calories/day, 60 g of Protein, 64 oz of Water.

Get rid of those drinks! That's a huge rule not only to losing the weight and maintaining your loss but also it impedes your body from absorbing the nutrients it needs to be healthy!

Seriously. If you need to get back on track, take the baby steps to do so.

Start with going back to rule #1 - no drinking before and after meals! Then start focusing on what you're eating.

You can do this!

Does this seem normal or to much? I just ate an Adkins meal it says 255g and when in oz it's like 8 oz or so.. is that to much or about right? I feel a slight discomfort afterwards and think either I ate too fast or to much.

I still don't eat with out a drink 2 1/2 years later. I have a drink in my hand at all times. I get choked very easily and it terrifies me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
