50 pounds lost-scale

Recommended Posts

Hi! Today I reached a milestone. I've lost 50 pounds, which I have never done in my life. I once lost 30, but gained it back plus eventually 50 more.

I'm going to buy myself a waterproof Fitbit. I started wearing one 3 weeks ago that my husband got me for Christmas, as he knew I wanted one for after surgery. He got me the Alta, but it's not waterproof.

Also, I'm interested in buying a scale that measures body fat. I have no idea how they work or the first thing to look for. Any tips are welcome.

Thank you!

Fitbit has a scale called Aria 2 that uses wifi and calculates body fat, BMI, and a couple of other things. I bought one but could not get it to sync so I sent it back. I really wanted to keep it but again it wouldn't sync.

Really? I do not know the first thing about scales that measure body fat. How is it even possible?

Thanks for the tip! I must get one! I love my fitbit!

I have the waterproof one but I take it off for showers, few steps in the shower. Good luck and keep it up!

I have a charge 3 and it pairs with MyFitnessPal. I also get phone, emails etc. It is waterproof, but as I said I don't wear it into showers as I'm using a fabric band now. I love the relax setting.

I was very sedentary before surgery and it's really encouraging to see how many steps I can take and calories burned a day. I also pair it with my fitness pal. Love it!

I do this also. The most steps I have taken so far is over 24,000 steps in one day.

I have a Nokia/Withings scale that pairs well with the LoseIt app that I use for food and exercise tracking. I find the Lose It app very easy to use and helpful with tracking macros and Protein and Water intake. The scale measure body fat and heart rate as well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
