I've dealt with major hair loss from alopecia for years and love the wigs I get from them... but hopefully the issue resolves itself for you! what good soy options have you found? The best soy option is NowSports chocolate Soy Protein. You can get it off Amazon and it is pretty cheap in comparison to other options. Also RedCon1 makes MRE lite which is all animal-based protein (not whey, but actually like... meat). They are more expensive, however. 1 talithaf reacted to this
debra102364 148 Posted June 12, 2019 Oh, and even though I had a real sweet tooth before surgery, I get tired of sweet things now.Hope that will be me. I could do without regular food and eat sweets all day.Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app
Frustr8 7,886 Posted June 12, 2019 And it does work, I used to be a real Sweet-Toother, made great cakes , Cookies and pies, had to taste-test each to make sure they were fit for human consumption, after all. Now I have NO DESIRE, in truth the very thought repulses ME. Who would have thought that? Not me if you had asked me a year ago. And now I am 9 months past and down 120 pounds, getting close to leaving Plus Sizes forever and I started out a BIG GIRL! But Big MAMA has left the building and a REBORN CUTIE-PIE has arrived, and I have found "MYSELF" under my Fat Shell and now the World🌏can see it too! 3 debra102364, shanshan and Lizzziee reacted to this
Pearldrop 164 Posted June 16, 2019 The post surgery heart burn.... I’m a year out and still take my daily tablet for heartburn, dr did mention it, but I was overly optimistic that the weight loss would get rid of it. the daily Vitamins, for the rest of my life, I really notice if I forget for a day or two. The neck when you are losing weight can look a bit loose, fine now! But for a month or so looked really odd....think fat barstard from Austin Powers lols But I will take all of this for how amazing I feel, I have so much more energy, and enjoy seeing myself in the mirror. Wish I’d done it earlier! 1 Lizzziee reacted to this
Akeem 36 Posted June 16, 2019 Please do not listen to all the huge problems have physically. People love to share those but thousands of people do not have any physical issues from recovering from surgery to keeping things down. I find people with no issues tend to stay quiet. You are doing this for quality of life. You are saving your life. Of course there is tons of doubt you are normal but if you stay on current path you know what you get. Take a chance for a fighting chance! 2 Frustr8 and CyndieRI reacted to this
jasmineinmymind 204 Posted June 24, 2019 I wish I had known that having weight-loss surgery did not guarantee weight loss. I went through a massive stall and it only changed when I started working out at the gym. People think that you won’t be hungry and that definitely wasn’t the case for me. I have been hungry right from the start. I wasn’t expecting to be able to eat everything and have nothing make me sick so I still have to use a lot of willpower. The main thing I wish that I had known though is that it would all be ok and I should have done it 10 years ago 3 JessLess, shanshan and foodie669 reacted to this
CSH_SD 8 Posted June 24, 2019 I wish I'd known how much I comfort eat so that I could have started working on alternatives BEFORE surgery. Nothing like feeling stressed, sitting in front ofmyour favorite comfort food, eatingmplan be-damned, and being full after 5 bites. 😂 I wish I'd known how quickly my clothes size would change so I could get into a clothing exchange right away. I wish I'd known about the gas and Constipation and weird breath and burps. Don't regret it for a second.
NancyLF 234 Posted June 25, 2019 A friend of mine had VGS surgery last year. Her doctor told her that Protein was the answer to avoid Hair loss. She started drinking protein Water pre-op & continued post-op. She didn’t have any hair loss.
kitty0422 18 Posted June 25, 2019 That there could be complications after surgery, such as scar tissue build up that’s prevents you from being able to hold down food and Water. 1 foodie669 reacted to this
Frustr8 7,886 Posted June 25, 2019 Yeah nobody mentioned anything about ulcers and stricturing in my pre-surgery classes. Maybe it's rare but it happened to ME! 2 shanshan and foodie669 reacted to this

I had never heard of ulcers and strictures either, until I developed them just 3 weeks post RNY. I know they are rare, though. Frustr8 7,886 Posted September 10, 2019 I would not believe with my narrow, mostly liquids diet I would still be having emesis difficulties. Wondering if Zofran will be a permanent friend? Miss one and even mildly seasoned things come popping up and they're seldom as pretty as when they first went down!👈😢👉
JessLess 1,163 Posted September 12, 2019 I’ve had a very easy time of it and don’t regret it at all. That being said, I’m freezing! I argue with my husband about the AC at home and secretly hate on whoever decided our office should be 70 degrees daily. I’ll be fine, just in a sweater and cold. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
