jellygirl 0 Posted May 2, 2019 I am 6 weeks postop from gastric sleeve. I am on a regular diet. I can't seem to get in enough liquidsthroughout the day. I am having to force myself to drink when I'm not thirsty and when I still feel full from eating (maybe an hour after eating). I hate doing that because I know it's going to flush the foodout too quickly. Does it get easier to drink? I know they say that your Protein shakes/milk count towards liquid, but honestly my body needs straight up Water to feel hydrated. And when I don't drink enough I sleep like crap. Most days I struggle to get in 48 oz.
GradyCat 3,695 Posted May 2, 2019 Yep, gotta keep sipping every 15 minutes or so whether you feel like it or not, especially now when you're still at risk for getting dehydrated. 1 Briswife15 reacted to this
med28thmed 118 Posted May 2, 2019 Also Jellos and Popsicles count as liquid.. broth as well... I used to drink diet soda. My doctor didn't prohibit it as long as I drank my minimum amount of Water, so pretty much I don't have time for diet sodas anymore.
gabybab 696 Posted May 2, 2019 I'm guilty of getting approximately 40 oz a day. I'm on regular food, but get too full.
