Hello 😀

I will be having my Weight Loss Surgery in June 2019 and ideally, would like to have plastic surgery 6-7 months after just in time for my birthday.

How long did you weight before having plastic surgery?

It was 21 months after. I All the PS I was willing to consider wanted patients to have been at goal for a bit. So many changes following WLS. I was not even sure if or what PS I would need. Notsure your circumstance but I ncourage all to focus on a step at a time - not the whol enchilada Best to you on this journey!

I believe most plastic surgeons want you to be at your goal for at least 6 months or longer before post-Bariatric plastics. 6-7 months post-op might not be a realistic goal.

That's a good question. I'm considering a possible breast lift once I reach and sustain goal, but that's at least a year away as I'm only 4 months post-op now

Yeah lol wishful thinking. Tbh I’m not looking to be “skinny” which is what I’d be if I reached the ideal weight for my height. I like being “thick and curvy” just healthier with less belly lol I’m 100lbs give or take from achieving that look.

I was at 18 months post op and 9 months consistent with my weight when they did my panilectomy. I definitely recommend getting it down when you are at your goal weight and you have continued to stay the same weight.

The plastic surgeon that works with my bariactric team requires you to be at least 1 yr post op and a “stable” wt for at least 6 months.

Surgeon and insurance both recommended 18 months because that's when it's pretty much "sure" that you're done losing weight and your weight is stable. That being said, I am scheduling my first plastic surgery at the end of November.... so, about 13 months post-op.

I had originally wanted ps 10 months post op. Fortunately my schedule didn’t allow for the time off. I had hit my goal weight, but then proceeded to drop another 15 lbs.

When you’re 200 lbs plus 15 lbs is nbd. But the physical differences for me between 140 to 125 were dramatic. I lost two cup sizes and two sizes in pants.

So now I’m planning to have surgery at 22 months post op, having maintained at 130 or so for approximately 10 months.

As impatient as I am to have ps and get everything “fixed”, it was actually the best thing for me to be forced to wait.

I had my first round of plastics (Extended Tummy Tuck with FDL and Mastopexy with augmentation) at 15 months post-op (5.5 weeks ago), I had been maintaining for about 5 months.

I am 16 months post-op and going in for my first consultation on July 2nd. If I move forward with an arm lift, it will probably be the week before Thanksgiving as I am a teacher, and I have the week of Thanksgiving off.

I'm having my Tummy Tuck next month. Will be a little over 20 months from by sleeve surgery. I had planned to have it last year just after my year mark but ended up getting really sick and had to postpone everything.

HW = 360
SW = 292
GW = 220 reached 3/7/18

Same here..along with something to take care of my GINORMOUS arm flaps!

But for me....will be a long way away. Guess it is good in that I should start trying to stash money now and if I change my mind down the road...I can have one HECK of a VACATION!!!

Win-win!

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
