Lbtnew 89 Posted October 17, 2019 Good advice Deedee, I just hit 9 weeks and was disappointed with the scale yesterday (I only weigh on Wednesday) it was dead even with last week, not even an ounce down. I have been active with walking, dance, yoga and zumba so didn't expect to not lose. I started to eat real food this past weekend (until then was on stage 4) however I was away all weekend and eating out. Hence I didn't have my food scale and measuring cups at each meal. I did in fact make sure I packed my yogurt, protien shakes, cottage cheese and homemade egg salad. I guess I need to step up my steps. I thought my choices and portions were within range but I guess I thought wrong. Hoping to see a downward movement next week

I’m not sure how big our portion sizes should be on the real food , can anyone tell me ? or is it until we feel full? Hope everyone is doing well 😊 Edited October 17, 2019 by PEGGO
Deedee12 1,860 Posted October 18, 2019 Hi Deedee! I'm glad to hear you are doing good and staying positive. I just met with my nutritionist yesterday. Ive been getting 500 - 600 calories a day and I was told I should be hitting 1,000 now (seems like a lot). As far as stalls go, she told me the same thing.... that this weight isnt going to just melt off and that hitting plateaus are part of the process. You're doing everything right and it sounds like you're extremely dedicated! The weight will come off eventually. Enjoy the ride, even though its a bumpy one. That's what I'm trying to do. Easier said than done though lol Thanks MarvelGirl25[emoji8][emoji8], I needed to hear that!! Yes going 1000Cals seems like a lot but people say it truly makes a difference especially if you are working out! I alternate days of low (600) and high (> 800) to deceive my body so it doesn't get used to low cals and recalibrate....if that makes any sense...Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 MarvelGirl25 reacted to this
ahillig 136 Posted October 18, 2019 Hey everyone! I'm 6 weeks out and feeling out food situations. I've definitely found somethings that do not agree with me and I've found some things that I can eat that I'd never thought I'd be able to eat again so I'm happy about that. Last week I was up 1.2 lbs but it was a really rough week transitioning to soft foods and figuring out what I can eat in addition to a wedding that I poorly prepared for food wise. This week though I'm down 5.2 lbs so things are back on track. I still cannot choke down anymore Protein Shakes so I'm conscious to get in a lot of Protein with food. I also ordered a treadmill for my house because living in northern Illinois our winters suck and it'll be nice when I don't want to go to the gym just to walk because I didn't do cold before surgery and now after surgery I'm always cold so I'm definitely not going outside unless I absolutely have to. 2 MarvelGirl25 and Lbtnew reacted to this

I was so tempted to get on the scale this morning but promised myself Wednesdays only so I refrained. Plus I have a one month doc visit today so I will be weighed there. As for the egg salad I boiled 6 eggs, I out them in a pot of tap Water, bring to a boil then cover, remove from heat and set time for 15 minutes. Rinse in cold water then let sit a few minutes in cold water with a few splashes of white vinegar (makes them easier to peel) I use an egg slicer putting them one direction then putting in the other direction. Or you could just chop them. I dices up about 3 stalks of celery then added celery seed, white pepper, and equal portions approx 1tbl spoon of each lowfat mayo, hummus, and dijon mustard. When my husband saw what I put in he made a face but let me tell you he actually liked it. I just wanted to cut the mayo. As for portions, I scooped it into 6 individual portions figuring each contained one egg. It was great for Breakfast or lunch
mr.sean 60 Posted October 18, 2019 I'm 10 weeks post-op and my weight has stalled around 45lbs of weight loss and it's pretty upsetting. I'm also easily able to eat 800+ calories per day and my appetite is coming back, which is also upsetting. I feel panicked because I know the majority of weight comes off in the first 6 months and the clock is ticking. 1 Deedee12 reacted to this

Im having the same issue I stalled or about 3 weeks then it broke out of the nowhere, I lost a few more pounds and now I'm stalling again. I havent cheated I was eating around 500 -600 cals, and have been walking. Im going to be increasing my cal intake and I think I need to exercise more. Why do you think you have stalled? I dont think its the amount your eating... 800 cals is good! I heard the honeymoon phase is a year so dont panick yet! Theres still plenty of time. But we do need to maximize all the time we have ... 1 mr.sean reacted to this

mr.sean 60 Posted October 24, 2019 How's everyone doing? I'm 11 weeks post-op and have lost 47lbs. I've really stalled in the past 3 weeks though, and I've only lost about 4lbs in that time. It's very discouraging. I'm eating less than 1000 calories per day. How can I possibly have only lost 4lbs in 3 weeks? 1 Deedee12 reacted to this

bethow 114 Posted October 24, 2019 I had my sleeve surgery nine weeks ago. I am averaging 1.5 to 2 pounds a week weight loss. I think that we lose so quickly while on the liquid diet that when we start eating food and the weight loss slows down we over react fearing that we will start gaining again. But think back to our pre-surgery days. Four pounds in three weeks, we would have been ecstatic. it took me two years to lose 35 pounds before my surgery on 8/21/19. I’ve lost 47 pounds since then. The bad part for me is that because I carry most of my weight in my belly, I don’t see the weight loss when I look in the mirror. However, as more and more of my clothes are too big for me to even consider wearing, I remain positive about my chances of finally succeeding at what I had considered my biggest failure in life, my weight. This site is so inspirational that it keeps me positive and determined to succeed. 2 Lbtnew and MarvelGirl25 reacted to this

Yes I agree I am going to be 10 weeks post op and I’ve only lost 41.4lbs and am only losing at most 2.8lbs a week since on soft/solid foods. I haven’t been doing my 30 minute walking which probably would help. 1 MarvelGirl25 reacted to this
